Hot pear parcels with thyme and bacon
Appetiser: 16 pieces
Preparation time: 20 minutes
- 2 firm Sweet Sensation pears (almost ripe)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Black pepper
- 16 small sprigs thyme
- 16 rashers bacon
- 1-2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp honey
- Additional necessities: 16 wooden cocktail sticks
Rinse the pears, remove the cores and cut into eighths.
Sprinkle the pear slices with lemon juice to prevent discolouration and season with a little pepper.
Put a sprig of thyme on each pear slice. Wrap a rasher of bacon around each pear slice.
Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the pear slices for 3-5 minutes over medium heat until the bacon is golden brown and the pear is heated through. Drizzle a little honey over each pear parcel and serve with cocktail sticks.
